WAN To Site:
Services that will carry
data between the WAN
core and each site,
except the community
school, will be
point-to-point serial
lines running at 1600
Kbps. This link can be
upgraded in 64 Kbps
increments to 1984 Kbps.
These lines will be
leased from a
telecommunications
service provider. Each
site will be connected
to the nearest WAN core
hub by a single line.
Each school, except for
the Community School,
will have its own
dedicated line into the
nearest WAN core hub.
ISDN will be provided
for the community school
to have dial-in access
to the WAN as needed. An
ISDN backup link between
each school and the
nearest WAN hub will
also be provided. ISDN
will provide a link to
each school for the
purposes of router
maintenance.
WAN core to WAN core:
Services that will
interconnect each WAN
core will be dedicated,
point-to-point, leased,
permanent lines running
at 1600 Kbps. This link
can be upgraded in 64
Kbps increments to 1984
Kbps. Four lines will
interconnect each WAN
core hub. These four
lines will provide high
redundancy and make
traffic flow throughout
the WAN faster. This
should result in network
services becoming more
available to network
users.
WAN-To-Internet
Connections:
To connect the school
district to the Internet
and other external
networks, a Frame Relay
Permanent Virtual
Connection running at
1600 Kbps will be
installed at the
District Office. This
link can be upgraded in
64 Kbps increments to
1984 Kbps.
